Mark your calendars for Thursday, June 12 from 6:00-8:00p.m. Don't miss our 3rd annual Summer Reading Kickoff event! Sign up for the Summer Reading Challenge at our relaxing beach party. We'll have beach-themed activities, entertainment, and FREE ice cream. See you there!

Slow Down and Read 2025

You are invited to slow down and read with us this summer. Stop by the Readers Services Desk to get started. When you sign up you will receive a reading log, a themed notepad, and a spin on the prize wheel!

Registration starts Wednesday, June 4

Summer Reading ends Monday, August 17

Last day to report is Saturday, August 23

Read and win:

Sign up at the Readers Services Desk for the Summer Reading Challenge and be entered to win fabulous prizes! Stop in to enjoy our displays and decor, plus get ideas for your summer reading picks!

Earn a spin on the prize wheel for each book you read. Also earn a raffle ticket to place into the sponsored restaurant box of your choice for each book recorded. Finish the challenge to win a free Slow Down and Read t-shirt.

at 1:30 p.m.

Last day to claim prizes:
August 23

To Register:

  1. Stop by the Readers Services Desk to register if you are an adult or teen reader in 9th grade and up*.
  2. Fill out your contact information and pick up a reading log. You will also get a free notepad, raffle ticket, and a spin on the prize wheel.
  3. Congratulations! You just completed the first step! Don't forget to grab a few books on the way out.

*If you have a reader in 8th grade or younger, sign them up at the Ask Me Desk on the lower level.

Log Reading:

  1. Each book you slow down and read earns you a raffle ticket. Your reading log will give you specific reading themes, so choose your books accordingly. Record the title and author for each book you complete.
  2. The more books you log, the more chances you have to win! Every completed book earns you a raffle ticket and a spin on the prize wheel. Bring your log to the Readers Services Desk to claim your prizes.
  3. Complete your log to win a free Slow Down and Read prize t-shirt!
