Computer Monitors


Computers & Internet

The library has computers for adult and teen use in the Reference Area on the main level. Any patrons in 8th grade and younger can use the Kids’ Computer Zone in the Youth Area on the lower level. A Rolling Meadows library card is not required to use the public computers. Walk up to any empty computer station to get started. Need help? The Reference Desk can get you started.

Time Limit:

You can use a computer for a 30 minute session. Your time can be renewed if no one is waiting. Computers shut off 15 minutes before closing.

Software:

Each PC computer offers Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher), and a PDF Reader. If you require a computer for video conferencing, please reserve a study room or small conference room.

Internet:

Each computer offers filtered internet access. Browse the internet using Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, or Google Chrome. If you have questions about the library's internet policy, you can view it on the library's policy page.

WiFi:

Free WiFi is available throughout the Library and outside from the West Parking Lot. Connect to the network named "rmlib." You will need to accept the terms of use. No password is required.

Hotspots:

If you’re looking for internet on the go, you can check out a Mobile Hotspot with your Rolling Meadows library card. Learn more and check availability of hotspots. Contact the Check Out Desk at 847-259-6050 x120 with any questions.


Print, Copy, Scan, & Fax

A Rolling Meadows library card is not required to use these services.

Printing:

Printing is available on pre-loaded copy paper only. You can pay for the printouts at the print station with cash. No change can be given. The Reference Desk is there to assist if you need help printing. Please note: Printing services end 10 minutes before closing.

  • Black and white prints: $0.10 per page
  • Color prints: $0.25 per page

Wireless Printing:

Print virtually any document or web page from an internet connected computer or mobile device. Pay when you pick up at the library. Print jobs are held in the print system for 2 hours. Upload files to PrinterOn External Link to get started. Please note: Wireless printing services end 30 minutes before closing.

Copy:

The library has a copy machine in the Reference Area on the main level. Please ask  at the Reference Desk for assistance with loading funds or making copies. Please note: Copying services end 10 minutes before closing.

  • Black and white Letter (8.5”x11”) copies: $0.10 per page
  • Black and white Legal (8.5”x14”) copies: $0.10 per page
  • Black and white Ledger (11”x17”) copies: $0.20 per page
  • Color copies: $0.25 per page 

Scan:

All scanning is free and easier than ever with our new scan and go station. Scan directly to your smartphone, QR Code, USB, or Google Drive. Please note: Scanning services end 15 minutes before closing.

Fax:

The library provides faxing services for public use at the Reference Desk. Send anywhere in the U.S. We do not accept incoming faxes. Please note: Faxing services end 30 minutes before closing.
