Our Strategic Plan is centered on five key goals, all designed to help the library extend its reach and impact. In the coming years, you’ll see expanded programming for adults, children, and teens, as well as new partnerships and community events that bring us closer together. Rolling Meadows Library first opened its doors to the public on February 29, 1960, in a converted single-family home at 3300 Meadow Drive. This three-bedroom house had previously served as the sales office for Kimball Hill and Associates, the developers of the original Rolling Meadows homes.
Due to rapid growth and increasing demand, the library soon outgrew its original space. A new, larger facility was built at 3110 Martin Lane, opening to the public on October 31, 1967. Major expansions to the building on Martin Lane added a lower level children’s area in 1972, the West Wing and upper level Community Room in 1987, and the Garden Lounge and small group meeting rooms in 2017.
Now many years later, the library continues to proudly serve the community at its home at 3110 Martin Lane.
