A nine-member Board of Trustees, appointed by the Mayor, oversees the library's budget, expenses, and policies. Trustees serve for three-year terms and may be reappointed indefinitely. Officers are nominated and elected by the Board for one-year terms with reelection options. A City Council Representative attends board meetings and serves as the liaison between the city and the library board.
Board meetings are open to the public and held the second Wednesday of the month at 7:00 p.m., unless otherwise noted.

Jean Threadgill has substituted in District 15 for over 20 years. "I welcome the opportunity to help give to the community that my family and I have benefited from for so many years."
Phil has been a Rolling Meadows resident since 1988 and retired from the Lake Zurich School District after 28 years as an Elementary School teacher. Prior to teaching, he worked for 8 years as a Paralegal at two Chicago Law Firms. He believes in the importance of public libraries as a resource for the community and will work to ensure that all Rolling Meadows residents have access to the best possible library experience.
A lifelong resident of Rolling Meadows and a past employee of the library after retiring with 43 years of service. Steve is a strong advocate for public libraries and their place in the community. "I was looking for volunteer work after retirement and thought library trustee would be the perfect fit for my skill set. I plan to serve the community the best I can and be a cheerleader for the library and the services they have to offer."
Marsha has not only been a resident of Rolling Meadows since 1968 but also was a library employee in the area for over 20 years. This experience made her realize the importance the library makes in the city. As a library trustee, she is committed to maintaining the library as a valuable asset for all residents.
Melanie grew up in Rolling Meadows and recently moved back with her family in 2022. Since graduating from Illinois State University in 2006, she has taught high school English, and after completing her Masters in Library Information Sciences from the University of Illinois in 2022, she has shifted into a library position at her school. As a trustee she looks forward to making sure the library continues to meet the needs of Rolling Meadows residents.
Mary has lived in Rolling Meadows since 1981, and has been a patron of the library since then. She and her husband own a business in Rolling Meadows. Mary is proud to be a board member and believe a library plays a critical part in any community.
Megan has been a Rolling Meadows resident since 2018, she is a 7th and 8th Grade Social Studies teacher. She is looking forward to collaborating with the board to enhance library services and efficiently serve the needs of the community.
Liesel and her family have lived in Rolling Meadows since 2018 and is new to the library board. Liesel has over 20 years experience in the financial services industry and is looking forward to serving her community.
Sylvia has lived in Rolling Meadows since 1999. Upon retiring in 2010, she joined the Friends of the Rolling Meadows Library and has been an avid volunteer, regularly assisting in the sorting of donated materials for Friends' book sales. She was appointed to the Board of Trustees in 2016.
Stefanie is a lifelong resident of Rolling Meadows and the current Alderman for the 5th ward. For the past 15+ years she has worked at Motorola Solutions, and volunteered at Willow Bend, Carl Sandburg, and Rolling Meadows High School. During her spare time she is the mom to a wonderful high school senior and an avid reader.
