Storytime To Go

Pre-k through Grade 2

Each Storytime To Go contains a selection of some of the best stories to read online. They will include several stories for the youngest listeners and some to catch older listeners' attention. Each month we will provide stories, a song and a craft activity around a new theme. Available in English and Spanish .

Don't Have A Printer? Want a supply kit?

We have a pre-package kits available for pick-up at the Ask Me Desk containing printed materials and select craft supplies. Limited quantity, items are available on a first come, first served basis.

Please Note: Some supplies are not included in the take-home-kit (ex. scissors, glue, coloring utensils).

Jumping Frog

3D paper plate frog with roll out tongue


Supplies in Kit:

  • frog body parts print out
  • small paper plate

Supplies Needed at home:

  • markers or crayons
  • scissors
  • glue

Instructions:

  1. Print page 2 of instructions for frog body parts.
  2. Color and cut out the parts of your frog.
  3. Cut a little bit of the top of the plate, see image.
  4. Color the plate.
  5. Glue the eyes, mouth, tongue and legs to the plate.

Now you have your own jumping frog! Ribbit!

Snowy Owl Craft

Paper Plate Snowy Owl


Supplies in Kit:

  • two small dessert-sized paper plates
  • white construction paper

Supplies Needed at home:

  • markers or crayons
  • scissors
  • glue

Instructions:

  1. Cut one of the paper plates in half.
  2. Tear the white construction paper into pieces of different sizes to make the feathers.
  3. Glue the paper feathers to the wings.
  4. Glue the wings underneath the whole paper plate.
  5. Draw eyes and a beak on the owl with markers or crayons.

Your Snowy owl is ready to fly. Happy snowy adventures!

Pig the Pug Paper Bag Puppet

Paper Bag Puppet Craft with Pig the Pug


Supplies in Kit:

  • paper bag
  • Pig the Pug print out

Supplies Needed at home:

  • scissors
  • glue

Instructions:

  1. Print page 2 of instructions.
  2. Cut out the ears, eyes, snout and tail. Cut on the white dotted lines of the tail.
  3. Glue ears, eyes and snout onto the rectangular flat part at the top of the paper bag.
  4. Glue the center of the tail onto the back side of the bag. Let the glue dry.

Try to make your Pig behave!

  • David pattern print out

Supplies Needed at home:

  • scissors
  • glue
  • markers or crayons

Instructions:

  1. Print pages 2 & 3 of instructions.
  2. Color your David parts.
  3. Cut them out.
  4. Glue the head top to the flat square part of the bag.
  5. Glue the mouth underneath.
  6. Glue the body onto the long part of the bag.
  7. Glue the arms into the side folds.

Make your David do some mischief!

Paper Plate Apple Core

Paper Plate Apple Core Craft


Supplies in Kit:

  • paper plate

Supplies Needed at home:

  • markers, crayons or paint
  • scissors
  • glue

Instructions:

  1. Cut the paper plate to look like an apple core. Keep the leftover paper plate pieces.
  2. Color or paint the top and bottom edges of the plate.
  3. Cut out and color a leaf and a stem from the leftover pieces and glue them or tape them to the top of your apple core.
  4. Paint some seeds too. Yummy! What a Delicious apple!

Supplies Needed:

  • A small cardboard box*
  • markers or crayons*
  • Scissors*
  • Glue*
  • Print out (Printed Istructions)

*Not Included in kit.


Instructions:

  1. Print Instructions (you need pages 2, 3 & 4)
  2. Color and cut the tractor and animals
  3. Glue the tractor to the sizes of the box to form the tractors wagon
  4. Glue the animals back to back to form them
  5. Take your animals for a ride!
