Child Friendly Computer Zone

Computer Monitors

The youth services' Child Friendly Computer Zone is a place where kids in 8th grade and under come first! A library card is NOT required to use a computer. If you have never used a computer before, the Ask Me Desk can get you started. 



Computer use

We offer internet access (Chrome, Edge and Firefox), Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher), and printing on all desktop computers.

Age limit:

Computers are for kids in 8th Grade and younger.  Older patrons are allowed to sit at the computers only if they do so with the permission of an eighth grade or younger patron and must sit with that patron during such use.

Time limit:

You can use a computer for a 30 minute session. Your time can be renewed if no one is waiting. Computers shut off 15 minutes before closing.

Internet:

Each computer offers filtered internet access. If you have questions about the library's internet policy, you can view it on the library's policy page.

Printing:

Black and white prints cost $0.10 per page. Color prints cost $0.25 per page. You can pay for the printouts at the print station with cash. No change can be given. The Ask Me Desk is there to assist if you need help printing.

Wireless Printing:

We offer virtual printing services. Print any document from an internet connected computer or mobile device. Pay when you pick up at the library. Learn More External Link

WiFi:

Free WiFi is available throughout the Library and outside from West Parking Lot. Connect to the network named "rmlib." You will need to accept the terms of use. No password is required.


Attention: If you are older than 8th grade and need to use a computer there are computers in the Adult Reference for you. Scanning and copying services can only be found in Adult Reference.
